Beaverton Education Foundation: Beaverton students seek community support

By BEF Staff

Beaverton Education Foundation, which directly connects our community and classrooms to provide all Beaverton students’ access to the people, tools, and experiences that expand the depth, breadth and relevance of their academic journey, invites your support in Beaverton’s Choice, a hub designed to bring our community and classrooms together.

The site enables Beaverton School District Staff to post innovative projects they would like to implement in their classrooms and ask for support from the community in the form of volunteer time, project materials or dollars. Community members can search for projects that are personally meaningful to them and contribute in a direct and specific way.

Erin Pitney, who teaches math at the International School of Beaverton, has seen the impact Beaverton’s Choice can have.

“Beaverton’s Choice was a superefficient way of raising the much -needed funds for my classroom. Unlike other crowdfunding sites, with Beaverton’s Choice, 100% of the proceeds went directly to my project. I was able to send out the website information to the parents of my students, teachers, and my friends and family. They then shared the information with others. Anyone could donate who believed in my project. They could donate any amount. My project was funded within a few weeks and I was able to order the requested supplies immediately. I couldn’t have been happier with Beaverton’s Choice. It was the easiest fundraising I have done.”
