Well, it’s that time of the year again. After months of overindulging in holiday treats, skipping exercise and of course stress, the idea of starting the New Year with healthy habits seems like a pie in the sky. Mmmmm, pie. See what I mean?

There is hope! You can do this.

Each year we overeat and under exercise and then set New Year’s resolutions in hopes of repairing the damage. According to Forbes more than 40% of Americans make New Year’s resolutions. Most of those New Year’s resolutions are to get fit, get healthy, and lose weight. These well-meaning intentions come at a great time, right after the most indulgent time of the year. Unfortunately, only a fraction of us keep our resolutions. University of Scranton research suggests that just 8% of people achieve their New Year’s goals.

Doesn’t sound hopeful, does it? A new approach is needed. Instead of the New Year’s resolution ‘quick fix’ model – let’s develop a lifestyle of healthy habits, one baby step at a time. Deciding to take action is the first step in transforming your health. Resolve to do something different.
