High five your employees and increase their productivity
One of the main reasons productivity falls off, is employees are disengaged at work!
One of the main reasons people quit is because they do not feel connected with the company and/or people they work for.
We get so busy with projects, competition and moving up the ladder…we often forget the 101’s of being human, AND the benefits!
Humans are emotional, social animals.
Yet our technological lives have removed many healthy daily social interactions…and thus, we do not receive the benefits of these interpersonal exchanges: Greetings, Eye Contact, Friendly Conversations, Time Given, Smiles, Nods, etc….
As a manager, it is imperative you do not forget the power of interpersonal communication, of recognition, of High 5’s.
When people are recognized, included and engaged…they are more: Happy, Satisfied, Productive!

We get so caught up in our daily routines, in our own work projects, we often forget this.
Our technological world is so impersonal and so fast paced, we race around like ants, trying to get as much done as possible…but our social skills and graces are lagging and this has negative impacts on humans and their behaviors.
Engage your people.
Recognize their efforts. Reward their accomplishments (small and large). High-5 in the hallway. Have eye contact (look up!!). Take the time and make the effort to accomplish this. You and your people will be more excited to come to work daily, be a part of a group or tribe, be happier, more loyal AND more productive! People like to be acknowledged…and they like to belong.
