Starting with the approval to move Beaverton’s City Hall to The Round, this move will transform

The Round creating the civic core and cultural heart for the City. The City will add as many as 250 employees to the building and there will be space available for lease on floors 2 and 3 for private users. Beginning last week, the construction of the parking lot improvements commenced. Other site upgrades include a new plaza community area and new landscaping improvements providing the environment always envisioned for the Round.

In addition to the parking lot and landscaping design improvements, SKB has four new tenants and a current tenant has expanded their footprint. Planet Thai opened January 22, 2013, offers unique and delicious Thai-cuisine options for residents, tenants and visitors of The Round. Discogs, an online music store and database, moved in April, and is excited to experience the creativity The Round’s space. Exterro and Bogza also just moved in recently.w

Software company Workday has almost doubled its office space to 4,300 square feet. “With these new developments, we are well on the way to complete the vision of creating the premier multi-use project on the West Side,” stated Todd Gooding, President SKB. “We are a local company and understand what’s important to Oregonians which gives us a leg up on creating the space The Round was meant to be – local, vibrant, green and creative.

”The entire Round project comprises two office buildings (the Watson Building and the Metro Building), a parking garage structure with ground floor retail space, the Crescent-Promenade Building that contains 24,000 SF of ground floor retail with 63 residential condominiums located above and four parking lots. SKB and its investors acquired the Watson Building, the parking garage, a condominium interest in the 24,000 SF of ground floor retail space in the Crescent-Promenade Building and the four parking lots in April of 2012.“SKB has proven to be a great partner in forging the vision for redevelopment of The Round,” states Don Mazziotti, Community and Economic Development Director, City of Beaverton. “The improvements approved by the Planning Commission meet the highest standards of design and landscaping, just as they committed when we negotiated a development agreement with them.”
