The towering and vibrant blue and green sculpture complements the soon to be completed plaza which will host seating, Sister Cities stones, groves of trees, and landscaping. LED lighting will soon be installed around the sculpture to highlight its presence during dark hours.

The Beaverton Arts Commission engaged in a qualified based selection “call to artists” process identifying 21 sculpture artists with experience creating similar works. These artists were invited to compete by providing resume and portfolio information to the Artist Selection Committee, which was comprised of a member of the landscape architecture firm designing the South Plaza, representatives of the BAC, staff from the Community and Economic Development Department, the President of the Board of Directors of the Lofts at The Round Condominium Owners, and SKB, the owner of surrounding buildings and undeveloped parcels. Devin Laurence Field’s was selected to commission this sculptural work for the south plaza of the Round.
