Welcome To Our Tualatin Valley: Creating a sense of place
In November, the Washington County Visitors Association (WCVA) unveiled its new website, tualatinvalley.org, and introduced its refreshed brand. The strategy behind using the name “Tualatin Valley” to market the county to out-of-area visitors represents a move toward creating a “sense of place” and to distinguish Oregon’s Washington County from other counties and destinations with similar names.
In addition to a new website, the WCVA created a new logo, new print and digital advertising campaigns and new social media handles.
The WCVA is a destination marketing organization (DMO) charged with promoting Washington County, Oregon, as a leisure tourism destination. The WCVA has been marketing the region since its inception in 1983. The change to “The Tualatin Valley” symbolizes the ongoing evolution of the region, as it continues to grow as a travel destination.
