2026 Beaverton Beer Games: it was all for a great cause

Forget the Olympic Winter Games – on February 28, the real gold medals and glory were celebrated at the 2026 Beaverton Beer Games.

The Beaverton Downtown Association hosted an energetic and lively contest. Over 100 people witnessed the thrills and hoppy spills. Participating teams competed in fun, fast, alcohol-free games at some of the best bars and taprooms in the city, zipping and sipping through Binary Brewing.Co, Lazy Days, Loyal Legion, Breakside, and Raindrop Tap House. Fly Chai and Lionheart Coffee provided their own delicious beverages and supported the event.

Contestants faced rigorous tests with games such as Stein Relay and Coaster Curling. They were scored not only on performance but also on their stylish and fun team costumes. Waldos, inflatable chickens, beach dudes, and more! Families, friends, and those who played all had a blast, and it was a joy to see.

The event concluded at the Dining Commons, where special guests like our very own City Councilor John Dugger stopped by to speak and honor the winners. But easily the most popular attendees were the fabulous and fluffy alpacas Chachi & Max, who graced the games with pets, selfies, and carrot kisses!

The best part? It was all for a great cause. The event raised over $500 for HomePlate Youth Services. They serve youth ages 12-24 experiencing any type of instability.

This event showcased our tight-knit and evolving Downtown Beaverton community. The incredible beer and drink scene banded together to showcase their delicious brews and create something special and fun for both participants and spectators. The fact that we had such an amazing turnout and enthusiasm from everyone who was there is a testament to the spirit of our locals and their love for moments like this.

We can’t wait to have more events throughout the year that activate downtown, bring us together, and show off what our city has to offer.
