Abhiruchi South & North Indian Cuisine: Come enjoy a taste of India

Abhiruchi roughly translates to having a high “opinion of taste” and if you are looking for my opinion on where you can enjoy a taste of India, then Abhiruchi Indian Cuisine comes with my recommendation.
The owner, who is also the head chef, has over 37 years of cooking experience that dates back to 1994 when he arrived from Hydereabad, the capital of southern India’s Telangana state. Upon arriving to the US, Rao opened up Abhiruchi restaurant in the old K-Mart shopping center on Murray and TV Hwy. Specializing in both northern and southern Indian styles, Rao caters to to both casual and experienced diners of Indian cuisine. They take pride in their service, quality of food and vast range of traditional dishes they can serve.
According to Rao, “our objective has been and continues to be, one of introducing the Indian delicacies to non-Indians and to fill the void which some Indians feel about missing the home cooked food. We strive hard to earn the trust and esteem of our valued customers. We are ever grateful to our wide customer base and their overwhelming support.”
Abhiruchi South & North Indian Cuisine is surely one of the finest Indian restaurants in Beaverton. Their restaurant is best known for its outstanding food, excellent service and colorful atmosphere. Rao prepares everything fresh using the best quality ingredients and the freshest vegetables. Rao told me that “Each dish represents flavor, pleasure, affection and essence.” On example of this is their Raita which is made fresh daily. If you don’t know what it is, I call it a palette cleanser or digestive aid but basically, it’s made of homemade yogurt with Onions, Tomatoes and Cucumber. Rao says the active culture “reduces spiciness on the tongue and in the stomach” but I just say it’s delicious and worth the visit.
Some of the Rao’s recommended dishes include Chicken Masala, Lamb Vandaloo, Mixed Veggie Pakora and Flavors of Biriyani.
