Adopt a Bird: Meet Kiwi & Reggie, Pretty Boy & Dovie Girl

This month we are featuring two bonded budgies named Kiwi and Reggie. Both birds are about five years old; Kiwi is a female but we aren’t sure of Reggie’s sex. They used to be hand tame, so both of these babies would be perfect with a patient family willing to spend some time retraining them to step up again and to provide them with the gentle love and care they need to thrive. Budgies make great apartment pets for a family wanting birds in their life that can’t work with the excessive noise from larger parrots. Kiwi and Reggie love their foraging toys, playing on their spiral rope swing, and eating their favorite treat – millet! Kiwi is a beautiful turquoise colored budgie with a yellow head, while Reggie is a stunning sky blue color.

We are also featuring a second bonded pair, a male and female cockatiel named Pretty Boy and Dovie Girl. Pretty Boy is about fifteen years old and is Dovie Girl’s Dad! Both birds are step up trained and enjoy free flying time out of their cage. Pretty Boy likes to sing and talk while Dovie is a bit quieter which is common for female cockatiels. These two keep each other company but love to spend time with their human companions. Cockatiels are feisty, fun, intelligent little parrots that make wonderful companions.
