Adopt a Bird: Meet Lyle & Juniper

This month EBR would like you to meet Lyle. Lyle is a sweet, male quaker parrot who recently lost his mate. He is lonely and looking for someone to be his companion to help him through his grief. He likes flying onto people’s heads to preen them and enjoys playing peekaboo. Lyle is pretty low maintenance – he doesn’t really like to be held, but he’s interested in what you are doing and would just enjoy keeping you company while you watch TV or do your work. A human willing to spend time bonding with Lyle could earn his affection with apples and Nutriberries, as these are his favorite treats! Bonding and building trust with a rescue bird can be incredibly rewarding. EBR is always here to assist homes with training advice.

Our other featured bird for this month is Juniper. Juniper is a one-year-old female cockatiel who has a very sweet and loving disposition. She enjoys hanging out on your shoulder or leg. Juniper (or “Junie” for short) needs a home that will be safe for her to grow out her wings to free fly in. She’s friendly with everyone, including kids, and will politely chirp to ask to spend time with you. Junie loves wooden toys that she can chew up.  Female cockatiels tend to be a little quieter than males but still have that adorable, clownish cockatiel energy.
