Adopt a Bird: Meet Willie & Taffy

This month we’re featuring Icarus, a thirteen-year-old female sun conure. Icarus is a sweet and beautiful parrot who is looking for a companion or family willing to devote the time and activity with her that she needs to thrive. She says “Step up”, “Come here”, and “Hello”, enjoys green apples and pistachios, and loves chewing up her wooden toys. Sun Conures are fun, clownish bird companions, but can be quite loud, so may not be appropriate for apartment living!

Our second featured birds for the month of December are a bonded pair. Flo is an eleven-year-old caique who is bonded to Norman, a twenty-six-year-old sulfur crested cockatoo! This unlikely couple can be fearful of men and do better in a household with women. Norman is a fan of peanuts and Flo is a great eater who loves everything! Flo, like most caiques, is curious and loves to explore. Norman says a few phrases, like “I love you,” and “Baby bird”. Norman is a gentle soul who needs a human who is willing to cater to his emotional needs as a cockatoo. These two birds will make great companions to the right household!
