Adopt a Bird: Meet Willie & Taffy

Meet Lyle and Samantha: This month we would like to introduce you to a bonded pair of quaker parrot siblings. They are both eight years old, quiet enough for apartment living, and are generally low maintenance. They aren’t too fond of hands, but with time and training, could be encouraged to learn how to step up. EBR is always here to offer support to adopters on training their birds.

Lyle and Samantha enjoy hanging out on the couch with their foster parents and sharing food. Apples and nutri-berries are their favorite treats! Both can be verbally instructed to return to their cage and love to get exercise by flying around the house. Because they’re bonded, they would be great in a home that might not be available to give them attention a hundred percent of the time.

Our other featured bird for this month is Maliki, the Red-Lored Amazon. Maliki is estimated to be an older male and was rescued after being abandoned outdoors. He is a friendly and affectionate bird who loves music and sings when he’s feeling happy! He also loves chewing up boxes and getting scritches.

Maliki’s favorite foods are carrots and pumpkin, and he has a small vocabulary of words he likes to say. His favorite toys are his bell rope and his music box. Maliki is looking for a home that will love him the way he deserves and allow time for more of his personality to shine through.
