Adopt a Bird: Meet Willie & Taffy

For the month of December, we would like to introduce you to an elderly gentleman bird by the name of Willie.
Willie is a handsome 66-year-old Mealy Amazon parrot who is an absolute sweetheart and is looking for the perfect home to keep him company during his golden years. He just wants a lap or couch to hang out with his human and watch TV with.
Willie may do better in a home without young children who may not understand his needs as an elderly bird. He takes some medication for arthritis quite easily on his favorite treat (walnuts) and enjoys taking showers and basking in the sunlight. If you’re lonely and looking for a more laid back feather companion, an older bird like Willie might be the perfect companion for you.
Our other bird this month is Taffy, an 18-year-old Umbrella Cockatoo. Taffy prefers her companions to be men and children, but will tolerate women. She is a very loving bird and loves to chat with you and give kisses. Cockatoos are basically feathered toddlers, and Taffy enjoys playing with children’s toys as much as she loves chewing up cardboard and blankets. She enjoys an array of fresh veggies and fruits and loves granola and almonds. Taffy is a dancer, and will enjoy rocking out with you to some fun tunes. She says “Hi”, “I’m a pretty bird”, and is a great traveling companion – Taffy enjoys trips to the mall and walks outside.
