Adopt a feathered friend: Meet Sunny, Taz & Rosie

Happy Fall from EBR! This month we would like you to meet two adorable yellow-collared lovebirds named Sunny and Taz. These two female besties are trained to step-up onto your clothed hand or forearm. They are affectionate with a ton of personality and enjoy communicating with chirps and peeps back at their human companions. Their favorite toys include anything that they can shred (paper, balsa wood discs, straw) and they’re both very healthy eaters (they love their fruits and vegetables). They would do best in a home that doesn’t have any children or other small parrots (these two can be a bit territorial). Sunny and Taz both require time to fly outside of their cage in a safe space for exercise and will go back to their cage on command. They also really love having birdy spa days so make sure to offer them a bird bath often!
Rosie is an eleven-year-old sun conure. She is a beautiful bird who is step-up trained but likes to come to you to let you know she’d like some scritches and affection. Rosie is particular about her bedtime and will head back to her cage and let you know it’s time for light’s out! Sun conures can be quite loud, so aren’t very suited for apartment living. Rosie likes to speak gibberish and has a favorite song she likes to try to sing. When Rosie warms up to someone, she can be very loving and attentive. She would do well with a human who has the time to share their company and love with her and get to know her warm personality.
If you love birds and would be willing to volunteer your time, we are always in need of foster homes and individuals who can help with transportation or assist us with fundraising or organizing events.
