Annual Campaign to Feed Local Students During Winter Break

Annual Campaign to Feed Local Students During Winter Break

As the holiday season nears, the Beaverton Area Chamber is proud to support the Beaverton Education Foundation’s annual Feed My Body, Feed My Brain campaign—an urgent effort to help ensure that local students don’t go hungry during winter break.

While this season is often filled with comfort and celebration, it can also highlight disparities across our community. For many families in Beaverton, winter break is a time of stress, not rest. One in three students in the Beaverton School District relies on school-provided meals, and the two-week closure can result in as many as 22 missed meals per child. That’s where this campaign comes in.

The Feed My Body, Feed My Brain initiative aims to raise $100,000 across the Beaverton community to support students and families facing food insecurity. As part of that effort, the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce has committed to raising $5,000 through its Giving Page by December 15.

This annual campaign has become a powerful tradition in Beaverton—and this year, the Chamber is doubling down on its leadership role. Every member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors has personally donated to the cause, signaling a unified commitment to ensure no child goes without meals during the holidays.

“Our community’s children should never have to worry about where their next meal is coming from,” said a Chamber representative. “We believe in the power of collective generosity, and this is a moment to step up together.”

Last year, the Chamber campaign raised $2,800. With increased community awareness and engagement, the Chamber and Foundation are confident that they can reach this year’s $5,000 milestone.

Community members are encouraged to join the effort by scanning the QR code below to access the donation page. Contributions of any size are welcome, and every dollar helps provide meals that make a real difference for local families.

Together, we can help ensure that no student is left behind in this holiday season. By providing consistent nutrition, we give students the foundation they need to return to school in January ready to learn, thrive, and succeed.
