BACC Youth Scholarship Applications, Mover of Mountains Gala planning
February is an exciting time here at the Beaverton Area Chamber! We are well into planning for the Fourth Annual Mover of Mountains Gala! Nominations are coming in strong – these close on February 28, 2026, so if you have been procrastinating now is the time to nominate!!
What we are most excited about now is that Scholarship Applications will open on February 15, 2026! The Gala was started four years ago as a way to honor the Best of the Best in Beaverton, but beyond that to raise funds for scholarships for local youth. This is a new initiative for the BACC , and we were so proud to step into this space. At the first Gala, enough funds were raised to support three $3000 scholarships; those were awarded last year. The second year the gala grew, both in attendance and donations. This is enabling us to award NINE $3000 scholarships this year!! Last year we raised enough funds to award TEN scholarships this year!
So, let’s cut to the chase, who is eligible for a scholarship?
- Any student who has attended a Beaverton School
- Any student who lives in Beaverton
- Any student who works for a Beaverton Area Chamber Member
- Any student whose parent is or works for a Beaverton Area Chamber Member
Applicants must have graduated, expect to graduate, or have obtained a GED in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
The scholarships can be used for ANY post high school education. This is a wide net we are casting!
Additionally, this year, since we are fortunate enough to be able to award so many scholarships, four of the ten will be awarded to students participating in the CTE (career technical education) program. This is our commitment to honoring those students that are choosing a path that might not be a four-year university.
How can you help?
- Share this information with everyone you know – we want hundreds of applications for these scholarships!
- You can attend the Gala and bid on silent auction items or grab a bottle of wine from the wine pull.
- You can donate an item to the silent auction (maybe a weekend at your home in the mountains)
- You can donate a bottle of wine valued at $25 or more to the wine pull
- You can quite simply donate to the scholarship fund.
