Celebrating Kevin Carey, Celebrating Ten Years!

Kevin Carey has been serving his community at a local retail pharmacy for almost 11 years! This also includes the honor of being named Employee of the Month. His story was brought to attention by job coaches who have worked closely with him these past several years and wanted him to be celebrated for his hard work and accomplishments.

Kevin refers to himself as a “stock boy” or a “stock man” and really enjoys the work he does. He loves his friendly and talkative coworkers who help him realize he is an integral part of the team. For their part, they say he is amazing, a joy to work with and deserving of the kudos and attention.

Kevin’s employment journey started at a coffee shop where he worked as a lobby attendant where he kept the tables clean, the floors swept, and the coffee condiment supplies stocked. From there he started at his first pharmacy where he helped with breaking down boxes and keeping up with recycling. His current site helped him develop more skills such as using technology to keep track of merchandise and making sure that the shelves are full and the store looks good.

As for the coaches who support him, they say he is a very meticulous worker who pays attention to detail. He can successfully operate the machinery and tools at his worksite. He has worked hard to facilitate positive relationships with his managers and coworkers.He found a location and a position that allows him to grow his skills and his independence!

When he’s not working, he loves art, drawing, woodworking and learning how to fix things. He says he good at details and researching. It’s no surprise that his manager has praised him for his performance.
