City Manager’s Message: Welcome to 2023!

#BeavertonCityNews

I hope you are as excited as I am for the year ahead. We experienced so much in 2022 and I look forward to a continuation of great things.

Our new community vision imagines a Beaverton that is livable, connected, accessible, safe, and sustainable. Thank you for helping us identify the values most important to community members and opportunities for improvement.

Now, we get to work making sure our priorities and plans meet these ambitious community expectations. Development of the city’s first year-round shelter continued progress around climate action goals, infrastructure improvements, and responsive services are just some of the ways we will make this happen.

In my first year in Beaverton, it has been amazing to see how much work is underway. Check out our annual report for key highlights and activities. I’m so proud of these major accomplishments, including opening the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, hosting dozens of community and library events, launching our first “grab and go” collection of books, making our sidewalks more accessible, and keeping fiscal responsibility at the core of all we do—to name just a few.

I want to thank our residents, businesses, city leaders, community organizations, volunteers, city staff, and others who have partnered during the past year to make this a reality.

Here’s to health and happiness for the rest of 2023!
