Exotic Bird Rescue of Oregon: Adopting a bird is adopting a lifelong friend

This month we are featuring a very sweet Goffins cockatoo named Muppet. Muppet is 16 years young (Goffins can live to be 40 or older!) and is a fun bird who just wants to hang out with her people – and place feathers on their faces. Due to past trauma in her life with men, this sweetheart will do best in a female only household. Goffins are highly intelligent and need a lot of mental and social stimulation to thrive, along with a lot of toys to chew and destroy. Muppet loves to cuddle and play like most Goffins and is looking for her perfect female forever home to love and mother her.

Also featured this month is Cirrus, a beautiful blue budgie, and her ‘husbirb’, a yellow budgie named Solis. Solis is very talkative, friendly and curious. He loves music, playing with his bell toys, and wooing Cirrus! Both Solis and Cirrus are three and a half years old and would love to find a forever home that would be willing to work on helping them get over their fear of hands. Budgies are intelligent parrots that are sweet and entertaining; they make wonderful companions for a household that doesn’t want the noise or destruction of a larger parrot but still wants to be able to work on training and to share the love and beauty of a feathered friend.
