Get in tune with Summer!

#BeavertonAreaChamberofCommerce
One of my very favorite things about summer is live music outdoors. There are few things that bring so many people from so many backgrounds together like live music and games in the great outdoors.
We are lucky to have lots of options for outdoor music in August in Beaverton and the surrounding area.
Here is a sampling:
- Bethany Village Summer Concert Series on August 10 at 4720 NW Bethany Blvd.
- Beaverton Night Market on August 12 at the Beaverton Round.
- THPRD Summer Concert in the Park on August 17 at Raleigh Park.
- Beaverton Lager Fest on August 26 along Broadway in Old Town Beaverton.
- The cities of Hillsboro, Tigard, and Tualatin also have wonderful summer concerts in the parks and in town. Check out their City websites for more information.
Some of these events have food and other fun available. Be sure to check ahead of time for what you should or should not bring. A blanket, picnic basket, water, hat, and sunscreen are always good ideas!
There are other great ways to gather with friends and neighbors in August.
Many neighborhoods will celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1.
With advanced planning and some outreach, you can bring together your neighbors for fun, food, conversation, and more. You might even get a special friendly visit from our local police and fire & rescue professionals!
If your neighborhood is putting on an event and you would like the Beaverton Police Department to come by with some giveaways, email beavertonpolice@beavertonoregon.gov with the subject line “NNO Event Request.” Please include the address / location, time of the event, and a point of contact.
The Broadway Rose Theater in Tigard has another great way to enjoy music and fun with friends and family. From August 3-20 they will be presenting Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. This show promises to be a great time for music lovers of all ages!
Another great way to enjoy summer is a family bike ride. Beaverton and the surrounding area have a great variety of trails to enjoy.
And of course, you can always head to any local park to meet new people and have fun with friends and family. BBQ’s, lawn games, frisbee, and more!
Hope you all enjoy the last full month of summer. Be safe and be kind to one another.
