Get Outside. Discover Downtown!
Have you been to any of the great outdoor seating areas yet? The City of Beaverton recently approved outdoor dining to continue until further notice. Good news!
I highly recommend the 1st Street Dining Commons. Open to the public, you can bring food from home or order from a local restaurant to eat on the street. Heaters and lights will be added to many of these outdoor business spaces as we enter the coder and darker winter months.
The BDA recently received grant funding to add planters, public art, and cultural programming to that space. By the end of November, we could have two new murals, 14 new planters, and a Five Oaks Museum exhibit about the Kalapuyan indigenous people. Come see it!
We have been fortunate to not lose any storefront businesses over the last month during the pandemic. However, this winter poses a lot of uncertainty for businesses. Encourage your elected officials to support small businesses with grants. But also, come visit the businesses here and shop locally!
See you soon!
