Getting Along: Positive Workplace Practices
Though our employment settings have been incredibly altered by world events, one constant factor is the need to interact with others positively on the job. There will always be group projects, personal issues, and conflicts that need to be addressed amicably and professionally. While many of us have had the benefit of training in these areas, others have not been as fortunate thus far. COVID-19 has further complicated matters; when workplaces closed, learning opportunities dwindled for underrepresented populations, including those experiencing disabilities.
Dirkse Counseling & Consulting’s virtual class, Getting Along: Positive Workplace Practices, helps students with disabilities develop soft skills to support inclusion into modern workplaces that have been affected by COVID-19. This interactive, Employment Specialist-led class will promote skills in safety, teamwork, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, professional communications, and appropriate boundaries. All lessons will be tailored to meet the needs of individual clients and their unique support needs. Participants will work with classmates and instructors in a safe, online environment to apply these skills with peers and instructors while having fun.
As normal business operations remain uncertain, it is especially important that unique job-seekers remain engaged to build confidence and experience for future employment scenarios. Dirkse is pleased to offer this new class in a socially distanced, virtual environment that has been developed by experts who have been serving our community for over twenty years.
