Halloween is Happening at THPRD’s HMT Campus!

Are you looking for a fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween with the family?  We’ve got you covered!  Check out our Drive-thru Trick or Treat event at the HMT Recreation Complex on Saturday, October 24, from 6 – 7:30 pm.  We’ll have a fun route, lots of guests giving out treats for the kids, and surprises.  Please join us for this safe and fun event.

Talking Walls Murals Coming to Sunset Sports Complex

THPRD is honored to have partnered with students from Sunset High School’s Black Student Union and Color Outside the Lines, to pair BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color) students with BIPOC mentors to create murals for the sports complex.  The Talking Walls were envisioned as a way for THPRD to partner with the community to express our solidarity for racial justice.  The project’s purpose is to provide youth with space and time to share their messages of hope, inspiration, and purpose.  Students from Sunset High School worked with artist mentors from Color Outside the Lines to develop their work.  The students will be painting their murals on October 3.  We can’t wait to share the murals with the community and are so grateful for the talents and contributions of our amazing student artists!

Safe & Fun Community Events Coming this Fall

Thanks to a generous grant approved by the Washington County Board of Commissioners, funded through the federal CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds, THPRD is able to offer several community events this fall.  Our staff have been working on planning events that will accommodate smaller numbers of people, in appropriately physically distanced ways.  It is really important as we go through this time – that we find ways to still have fun in a safe and responsible way.

Here is a sampling of some of what we’ve got to offer.

  • Drive-In Movie: Register online at www.thprd.org/portal for this FREE drive-in movie event on Saturday, October 17, at 6:30 pm.
  • Drive-In Bingo: Register online at www.thprd.org/portal for this event at the Elsie Stuhr Center Parking Lot on Monday, October 5, at 11 am.
