Happy Autumn from EBR (Exotic Bird Rescue of Oregon)

This month we’re featuring Mattie, a 21-year-old male Goffin’s cockatoo. Mattie is a special needs bird with a chronic illness. He is a fun and incredibly sweet bird who is looking for a forever home willing to love him despite this! He is on a daily medication, which he takes easily in a bit of canned pumpkin. He loves to be around people and enjoys dancing and singing with his humans. Cockatoos love to chew, and Mattie loves shredding towels that are just for him. He’s also a good eater, and enjoys apples, carrots and broccoli stems. Mattie isn’t too fond of cats, so would do best in a household without them.

We are also featuring a bonded pair of green-cheek conures this month. Meet Ringo and Larry Bird! These two cuties are 5 years old, and like sitting on their humans’ shoulders and giving kisses. They are both very friendly and step up trained, but Larry can be a little cage protective sometimes. Larry Bird and Ringo are comfortable with children and enjoy working on training techniques. They will show you their wings for “pretty wings” and say their names. Millet goes a long way with these guys, as it’s their favorite treat! They also have fun looking out the window and talking to the wild birds outside.
