Have you ever heard of a Ruby Macaw? Exotic Bird Rescue of Oregon

This month EBR would like to introduce Angus, a beautiful male Ruby Macaw! A Ruby Macaw is a cross between a Green Wing and a Scarlet Macaw. Angus is about 25 years old, is step-up trained and used to riding on shoulders, but he’s not much of a flyer. Angus would be great in a home with a male or female human companion with no children, as he doesn’t do well with them. He would love to hang with you and watch TV, socialize, and work on perfecting his training tricks (he knows how to recognize colors and numbers, and responds to questions asked of him)!

Our other featured bird this month is Lizzy, the double headed Amazon parrot! Lizzy is a 35-year-old male and is very sweet. His family used to handle him and socialized with him a lot, until they became unable to provide him with the attention and care he requires. Now Lizzy is in need of a forever home willing to love him, spend lots of time with him, and patiently remind him how to step up and interact with people again. Lizzy enjoys eating dinner with his family (he is a great eater and enjoys fresh veggies, fruits and grains) and likes to be sung to before bed.
