In search of a limited trim Toyota Crown Signia

You don’t have to go to a dealership
Hello Loyal Beaverton readers. For this month’s story we will be talking about Bob and Lea, and their search for a new Toyota Crown Signia AWD in the limited hybrid trim package.
Having lived in Beaverton for nearly 30 years, they of course started their search at the local dealership. To their surprise, the salesperson quoted them $5k over MSRP in addition to nearly $2k in added accessories. Bob and Lea did a quick test drive and decided that this was the car they wanted, just not at the price quoted. This is the point where I stepped in.
I received a call from Lea who, as it turns out, lives right off Greenway just a few blocks from my home. After a short telephone conversation, I agreed to swing by to offer my services. After a quick 15-minute chat, I had all of the information I needed to get to work for them.
They were hoping to get the limited trim level model with black leather interior in a color called Storm Cloud Gray. I checked around the local area but without much success. One dealer even told me that this specific vehicle would be difficult to even order. As they were not in a huge hurry, I continued working, broadening my search.
I worked my magic over the next couple days and presto, I spoke to the fleet manager of a dealership who had the exact car on route to Oregon, arriving in just a few days. I alerted Bob and Lea of the great news, and they were very pleased. As was I.
As it turns out, the vehicle arrived within 48 hours and delivered directly to my home office where Bob and Lea could easily pick it up later on in the day. When they arrived, I had them sign all the paperwork before giving them a tutorial on all the new features and options to make sure they knew how to operate everything. Since there was no financing involved, the transaction was super simple, and this couple never had to set foot inside a dealership to complete the purchase. Bottom line: I was able to get a $1500 discount off MSRP with zero dealer markups. For Bob, however, he was just happy to avoid pressure put on by salespeople who would have offered him items such as extended warranty, paint sealants, more accessories etc.
