Magic of The Artists’ Open Studios Tour, October 17-18 (Saturday/Sunday), 44 local artists open their doors!

- Have you ever wondered what an artist’s studio really looks like?
- Is it anything like the movies, with giant lofts, paint splattered floors, and dramatic lighting?
- Or is it more like a spare room or garage?
This October, the Washington County Art Alliance Artists’ Open Studios Tour invites the public to explore these hidden creative worlds firsthand. For one weekend only. October 17–18, forty-four local artists will open their doors, offering a rare glimpse into the places where imagination becomes tangible. The event is completely free, making it one of the region’s most accessible arts experiences.
An artist open studio is a special event where artists open their workspace (whether that’s a home studio, a garage setup, or a rented creative space) to the public.
Guests wander through working studios at their own pace, discovering both finished pieces and works in progress. They can ask questions, watch demonstrations, and purchase artwork directly from the artist, with 100% of proceeds going to the creator, a rarity in the art world.
Where Do Open Studios Happen? Open studios can take place in many kinds of spaces, including: An artist’s home or garage. A purpose built studio or shared creative spaces. The key is that the space reflects where the art is made.
