New downtown mural “Repair the Future”

New downtown mural “Repair the Future”

Students from around Beaverton joined muralists Emily Lux and Addie Boswell to create a beautiful and meaningful new mural in downtown Beaverton. Come see it behind Pedro’s Upholstery and Top Burmese. You can find it next to the Vault Vintage Boutique.

Emily and Addie created the basic outline for the mural, and invited students to complete it with their own design ideas and creativity.

Students spent two days together, exploring what it was they wanted to share with the world. In the end, they finished one of the most powerful murals in all of downtown Beaverton. When visiting this mural, you’ll see artwork advocating for environmental protection, the value of black lives, the end of child imprisonment, body positivity, cultural inclusion, and healthy community.

While you are here, make sure you stop by 1st Street Dining Commons, the public seating area on 1st Street between Watson and Washington. Grab some food or drink from a nearby restaurant and enjoy the great physically-distanced and shaded outdoor space.

Please continue wearing your masks when downtown!
