The city is updating its Climate Action Plan, and we want to hear from you!

Join us for a drop-in open house from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, at The Beaverton Building (12725 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton).

Participants will have a chance to see the draft plan, share what’s important to you, and help shape the future of climate action in our city.

The Beaverton Climate Action Plan serves as the city’s roadmap for reducing community-wide greenhouse gas emissions and responding to the impacts of climate change. The plan aims to create a city that is more livable, connected, accessible, safe, and sustainable for all.

Shaping the Future:

Council Annual Retreat in December: The City Council holds an annual retreat and goal-setting workshop to discuss priorities and considerations for the upcoming year.

In previous years, conversations centered around how to build upon progress and recent successes while maintaining a lens of equity and fiscal sustainability in our work.

The retreat is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 7, and Monday, Dec. 8.

Join Us for the Teen Art Show!

Beaverton City Library is proud to announce the 23rd Annual Teen Art Show, showcasing the amazing talents of artists in grades 6-12!

The show kicks off on Wednesday, Nov. 5, with an opening reception from 4-5 p.m., and will be open to the public through Sunday, Nov. 9, during library hours. Everyone is welcome to attend!

We invite all visitors to cast their votes in the People’s Choice Awards. The middle school and high school winners will each receive $100 gift certificates to Blick Art Materials, and the runners-up will receive $50 gift certificates. A big thank you to Blick Art Materials for their generous sponsorship! Thank you for helping us celebrate the creativity of our youth in the community! We can’t wait to see you there!

Beaverton Winter Lights and Tree Lighting Event:

Get ready to kick off the winter season at the Beaverton Winter Lights and Tree Lighting event from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, at Beaverton City Park.

Bring the whole family for an evening of festive fun, featuring live performances by local musicians, crafts, and activities for all ages.

The night will sparkle as we light up the tree and City Park with thousands of lights at the 7 p.m. lighting ceremony.
