Check out these fun community events happening in June! It’s a great time to get out, connect with others, and enjoy all this month has to offer. There’s something for everyone, so don’t miss out! Favorites like the Volunteer Fair (Saturday, Jun. 7) and PRIDE Beaverton (Sunday, Jun. 29) will be making a comeback ahead of with dozens of other community, city-supported, and library events happening this summer.
The city will once again offer free weddings and vow renewal ceremonies in recognition of the legalization of same-sex marriage in Oregon.
Wedding and vow renewal ceremonies are open to all couples and will happen during the PRIDE Beaverton parade and celebration event on Sunday, Jun. 29.
Couples who want to participate must register and schedule their ceremony by Sunday, Jun. 15.

New Public Art Comes to Central Beaverton:
A new public art piece was added to the Crescent Connection Trail in February. “Ripple,” by StudioKCA, was installed by Matchless Builds near the intersection of Southwest Hall Boulevard and Southwest Crescent Street.
This art piece is a companion to “Ribbon” located in the plaza next to the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts.
This area is a gateway into the larger Central Beaverton district and is a primary entrance to the Reser. The Crescent Connection Trail was completed in 2018 and provides bike and pedestrian friendly access between the Beaverton Transit Center and Beaverton Central.

Summer Reading for Kids, Teens, and Adults is through August 15:
Kids and teens, you can level up by counting the hours you read or listen to someone reading to you this summer. You can use a reading log from the library or keep track of time on your own.
Kids and teens will earn a free book for reading, listening, doing family activities, or visiting the library for a fun event!
This summer, adults can help make a positive community impact by reading! Participants can help earn donations to a local nonprofit organization, Safe Route Immigration, by tracking their hours read.
Each time you submit your hours read throughout the summer, either online or at the main library or Murray Scholls branch, your name will be entered in our weekly prize drawings. The Adult Summer Reading program is sponsored by the Friends of the Beaverton City Library.
