New Online Tool Shows How City Prioritizes Street Maintenance and Improvements
The city has launched a new initiative — the Beaverton Streets Initiative — to provide residents with a clear, transparent look at how we care for the streets people rely on every day.
This long-term effort focuses on applying the right treatment at the right time to keep roads safe, reliable, and cost-effective.
A new website and StoryMap were created to support transparency as the Street Maintenance Fee is implemented, showing how investments maintain pavement, extend road life, and prevent costly reconstruction later.
Through maps, pavement condition data, dashboards, and plain-language explanations, residents can explore current street conditions and follow how projects move from evaluation to action.
The site highlights active and planned projects, maintenance strategies, and the data-driven criteria used to prioritize work across the city.

City Introduces Downtown Parking Ambassadors to Support Visitors and Businesses
The city is launching a permanent Downtown Parking Compliance program to improve access, enhance visitor experience, and support local businesses.
A three-person Parking Ambassador team provides parking information, basic enforcement, guidance on downtown destinations, and help with permits, bike parking, and nearby parking options.
Ambassadors encourage turnover in time-limited areas and may issue citations for violations such as parking too close to hydrants or parking in the right-of-way with expired registration.
Ambassadors work 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday (excluding holidays), with schedule adjustments for major downtown events like the Beaverton Farmers Market.
The team patrols on foot and in city-branded parking compliance vehicles.
All surface public parking downtown remains free. Longer term or covered parking is available at the Beaverton Central Garage for $1/hour or $15/day.
