Proud to call Beaverton home: Celebrating a fantastic 2023

#MessageFromTheMayor

“As the year draws to a close, I am thrilled to reflect on the remarkable achievements and milestones that our beloved city has witnessed in 2023. Beaverton continues to flourish and evolve, making it a community we can all be proud to call home.

One of the highlights of this year was the opening of two new water reservoirs, a testament to our commitment to water resilience. These reservoirs will secure our water supply for years to come, ensuring that our residents have access to clean and reliable water, even in the face of challenges.

In our ongoing efforts to address homelessness, we broke ground on a new year-round homeless shelter. This facility will provide trauma-informed care to those experiencing homelessness, offering them a chance for stability and support. It demonstrates our dedication to compassion and assistance for our most vulnerable community members.

Additionally, we received funding for our downtown loop project, a significant step towards creating a more walkable and vibrant downtown Beaverton. This project will not only enhance the beauty of our city but also provide a better quality of life for our residents and visitors alike.

Despite the challenges we faced, we continued to host vibrant events that bring our community together. From the Night Market to Ten Tiny Dances, Welcoming Week, and the Celebration Day Parade, these festivities showcased the spirit and diversity that define Beaverton. They serve as a reminder that our city is not just a place to live, but a place to celebrate life itself.

As we bid farewell to 2023, let us remember and celebrate all that we have achieved together. Beaverton is thriving, and life here is good. I am excited for what the new year will bring as we build on our successes and continue to work together to make our city an even better place to live, work, and play.

I wish you all a joyful holiday season and a prosperous New Year. Thank you for being a part of this incredible community.”
