Say hello to Tucker, A loyal “Velcro” best friend

For more than 25 years, Indigo Rescue has worked to help dogs with unique issues find forever homes that are uniquely perfect for them. So why are we featuring Tucker, a “perfect” German Shepherd Dog?

The fact is that, during the pandemic, everyone wanted a puppy. Breeders went crazy as lonely, bored stay-at-home adopters neglected to consider the future. Predictably, the world eventually opened back up, and cute little puppies grew to be large, energetic dogs that were no longer convenient. Simply put, German Shepherds were one of the most common victims of this story, and shelters and rescues are over-flowing with them as a result.

There is no shortage of German Shepherds who are eager to become the loyal, “Velcro” best friend they were bred to be—and we want all of them to find their perfect homes. Today, however, it is 14-month-old Tucker’s time to shine, because he really IS unique! Tucker is, incredibly, a perfect GSD rolled up in a miniature 39-pound package. True to his breed, he is eager to learn and eager to please, and he’s a sweetheart, to boot. Of course, like others of his breed, he’s going to need strong leadership and consistency, but his half-sized format makes a perfect fit a little easier to accommodate.
