Shop with a Cop, Holiday Edition

The Beaverton Police Department hosted its first-ever Shop with a Cop – Holiday Edition this season.

Unlike the department’s annual back-to-school event, this holiday version focused on helping children shop for thoughtful gifts for their parents or guardians. Accompanied by uniformed officers, kids carefully selected and wrapped presents, with help from police staff and volunteers.

After finishing their family shopping, the children were surprised with their own gifts—personally purchased by BPD officers, operations, and professional staff. “This event was about more than just giving gifts,” said Public Information Officer Matt Henderson. “It’s about creating connections, spreading joy, and making sure families in our community feel supported this holiday season.”

This event was made possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses and community members who contributed to its success.
