Summer fun & sun, right in Your Own Backyard

#UpliftingMessage
July is here, and Summer is in full swing! Everywhere you turn, you’ll find students enjoying a much-needed break from the rigors of learning, farmers markets, night markets and every type of outdoor market in between featuring locally produced food, art & clothing, hiking trails full of smiles, community pools filled to capacity, the joyful sounds of neighborhood kids playing late into the evening, and the smell of backyard BBQ’s floating through the air. Whether you are an Oregon native or brand new to the scene, here are just a few of the things you have to try at least once this Summer in the PacNW.
- Waterfront Blues Festival – July 1-4. Held against the picturesque backdrop of the Tom McCall Waterfront Park, and featuring over 8 acres and multiple stages of music, food, fun and fireworks, you won’t want to miss this PacNW staple. Come for the day or clear your calendar for all 4 days of festivities.
- The Oregon Coast – Whether you are in the mood for an epic hike, golfing by the ocean, sandboarding the dunes, fine dining, falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean, or taking in a world-class sunset, you will find nothing but breathtaking views and thrilling adventures along all 362-miles of the Oregon coastline.
- U-Pick Berry Picking – Many local farms open their fields to the public for berry and fruit picking during the Summer months. In addition to u-pick activities, many of these locations include farm stores, animal barns, food pavilions, gift shops, coffee stands and MORE, making this a fun (and delicious) option for the whole family!
- Free Movies, Concerts and Events – This year, Portland Parks and Recreation’s wildly popular Summer Free For All returns with a lineup of over 50 movies, concerts, cultural events, and free lunch/play activities throughout the Portland Metro.
