Summer isn’t slowing down and neither are we!

Hey, Beaverton neighbors! I’m thrilled to see our city buzzing with energy this August, packed with events that bring our diverse community together.

On Saturday, August 9, make sure to head downtown for our annual Beaverton Night Market at The Round. It’s one spectacular evening celebrating global cultures, with music, dance, family-friendly fun—and of course, delicious food from around the world. I can practically taste the sake tacos already!

Just two weeks later, on August 23, our Beaverton Music Fest takes over Griffith Park with a free, all-ages concert featuring classics, blues, Latin, funk—you name it. Bring a blanket, bring your whole crew, and let’s enjoy a beautiful summer evening under the open sky.

Speaking of community, don’t miss the Summer Family Resource Fair at the Beaverton Resource Center on Friday, August 15. It’s a fantastic carnival-style event offering free vision screening, school supplies, nutritious snacks, face painting—the works. It’s all about building stronger families and supporting one another.

And for you food lovers, here’s something to drool over: coming this fall, Canard—the acclaimed French restaurant from Portland—is opening its first Beaverton location in our historic downtown, a perfect blend of local flavor and continental flair. And don’t miss Dos Hermanos Bakery, which recently expanded to Beaverton’s Old Town with its beloved Mexican pastries and breads—all the buttery conchas and bolillos you love.

So, here’s my invite: get out there, explore, and soak in everything Beaverton has to offer this August. I’m so grateful to call this vibrant, caring community home—and even more grateful to serve you.
