Telling Beaverton’s Stories One Photo at a Time: Meet Michelle Bauer

Michelle Bauer sees Beaverton differently than most people—and that’s because she sees it through a camera lens. As a professional photographer with over 20 years of experience, Michelle has made a name for herself by capturing powerful, personal stories through her photos.
Her business, Michelle Bauer Photography LLC, focuses on fine art and branding photography. But it’s not just about snapping pretty pictures, it’s about showing who people really are. “Every person, family, and business has a unique story to tell,” Michelle told me. “My job is to bring that story to life through my lens.”
She’s worked with local schools, businesses, and entrepreneurs to create images that reflect what they’re all about. One example is her work with Arco Iris Spanish Immersion School, where she documented students learning in both English and Spanish. “It was an honor to help them highlight their bilingual education in such a fun and joyful environment,” she shared.
Michelle’s talent isn’t just technical, it’s emotional. Her photos often feel like they’re telling a whole story in a single frame. Whether it’s a business owner showing off their brand or a family celebrating a big moment, her images make you feel something.
And she doesn’t stop at professional gigs. Michelle is also deeply involved in the Beaverton community. She volunteers her photography skills for local events, offers mentorship to up-and-coming creatives, and uses her business to support other small businesses.
“Beaverton has given me so much,” she said. “It’s important to me to give back.”
Her approach to photography proves that storytelling doesn’t always need words. Sometimes, all it takes is one good photo—and Michelle knows just how to take it.
