The Voice of Business in Beaverton

The Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) plays a vital role in our community, offering a range of services to support local businesses. Our website, Beaverton.org, features a comprehensive directory of member businesses that can assist you with everything from travel planning to electrical system upgrades—and everything in between.

We actively market our businesses to the Beaverton community and beyond, hosting events that facilitate networking and foster valuable connections. Our educational classes empower businesses with the knowledge they need to thrive.

One aspect of the BACC that often goes unspoken is our advocacy for local businesses at the city, county, metro, and state levels. We prioritize building strong relationships with our elected officials, ensuring they know us before we make requests. By meeting for coffee and sharing insights about the needs of our businesses, we create a foundation for collaboration. We also attend City Council meetings to stay informed and engaged with the issues that matter to our community. For instance, just this evening, we attended a presentation on the Millikan Way project (check out the City Council meeting from September 17, 2024, for more details). Did you know that all City Council meetings are open to the public? I’m consistently amazed by what I learn during these sessions.

Additionally, the BACC Business Advocacy Council also hosts bi-monthly Q & A sessions with our local elected officials from our Mayor to our State Senators and everyone in between.  These offer a chance for our business owners to ask questions of our elected officials, to have their concerns heard and to build relationships.  So, the next time there is something we are concerned about it’s easy to pick up the phone and Speak with Senator Lieber or Mayor Beaty and ask them for five minutes of their time to hear our concerns. It’s much easier to get that five minutes when you have taken the time to build that relationship.  Your local Chamber helps give you the opportunity to build those relationships.

We encourage you to join us at our upcoming Meet & Greets! On October 29, we’ll be meeting with Washington County Sheriff Caprice Massey. This is a fantastic opportunity to ask questions and engage directly.
