THPRD: Make a Difference Today & All Year Long At THPRD
By THPRD Staff
Next time you visit a THPRD center be sure to check out our Holiday Giving Tree (or wreath or garland.) More than decoration, these displays are filled with opportunities to make the holiday season warmer for students and families in need.
Simply pick out a gift tag, go shopping for the clothes or toys listed on back and bring it back by Dec. 14..
Don’t like shopping?
Pick out a request for a gift card. These are great ways to support students being served through the Beaverton School District HELP Center, working with homeless students. Gift cards give these students the freedom to buy personal items or gifts for their host families.
Want to keep that giving spirit going all year long?
Consider volunteering. Volunteers report a decreased risk of depression, reduced stress levels and a release of dopamine from helping others. THPRD offers lots of opportunities for adults, youth and teams, including:
Park Restoration: Spend the morning planting trees and removing invasive species at different natural areas throughout the district.
Events: Greet guests, paint faces and more when you volunteer at a THPRD event.
Team Building: Create happier, more productive employees with a Team Building volunteer event. Activities include gardening, decorating for the holidays and more.
Ongoing Opportunities: Help out at one of our pools or after school programs. Coach a sports program or assist teens and adults experiencing developmental disabilities as they take part in activities.
Don’t miss out on a chance to do good. Explore all of our opportunities at THPRD.org.
