Youth Leadership Opportunities for Teens Ages 13 – 17: RISE is a leadership program where youth can develop skills to join the workforce. Teens are introduced to volunteering and coached in safety, volunteer expectations, group dynamics, and more. Get more info online.

Youth Leadership Opportunities for Youth Swimmers (level 4+) ages 12+: THPRD is recruiting youth to volunteer as Junior Lifeguards, where they can gain the skills and experience necessary to qualify and train for a staff lifeguard position. Get more info or sign up for an upcoming training online.

Volunteer at a THPRD Event this Summer: Volunteers help with a number of upcoming events. These events focus on a wide range of activities, like habitat restoration, garden work parties and community celebrations. Sign up online.

FREE Nature Mobile Summer Programming: Staff will be at local parks providing free nature programming. Find us this summer 9:30 am – 1 pm. Daily details can be found online.

Summer Camps for Adults & Kids: Looking for opportunities to spend quality time with youngsters in your life? Join one of our intergenerational nature camps! FREE 4th of July Celebration & Concert: Friday, July 4, 11 am – 2 pm – Veterans Memorial Park. Join THPRD and partners for a concert featuring Dancehall Days band. There will be family-friendly activities for all to enjoy, from inflatables to yard games to face painting and more!

Softball World Series: From Jul. 21 – Jul. 25, HMT complex softball fields & Sunset Park Fields will be occupied by a leg of the Youth Softball World Series.

THPRD Fall Adult Softball League Info: In July, get your closest 13 friends and sign up for one of our recreational or competitive leagues and enjoy some fresh air at the fields.

Therapeutic Recreation Summer Hoedown! Monday, July 14 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Join us for a night of learning the two-step and line dances, drinks and snack provided. Program intended for teens and adults 16yrs+ who experience disabilities. Held at the Elsie Stuhr Center. Registration.

Fiesta de Frida-Frida Kahlo’s Birthday Celebración: Tuesday, July 8, 9am – 7pm, join us at the Garden Home Rec Center to learn about the celebrated Mexican artist, and fun craft packets for the kids while supplies last.

The return of Flamenco Dance mini sessions: Starting in July, join us the Garden Home Rec Center to learn this Spanish art form. Registration required.
