Newt Day is Back at Tualatin Hills Nature Center: Join us on Nov. 8 from 12 – 4 pm. Explore hands-on activities, discovery stations self-guided park exploration, and more. FREE event courtesy of the Friends of the Tualatin Hills Nature Park.
Emerald Ash Borer Detection and Response: While conducting monitoring checks at Hazeldale Park, THPRD staff discovered Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). It is an invasive forest insect that attacks and kills ash trees, posing a serious threat to our local urban forest. Staff will be conducting assessments and implementing necessary safety measures. Autumn Afternoon Tea Party & Hat Contest: Friday, Nov. 14 from 2 – 3:30pm at the Elsie Stuhr Center. Enjoy tea, treats, and community fun complete with a Hat Contest.
Tualatin Hills Athletic Center Updates: Winter High School Basketball Registration Closes Nov. 24: Sign up your high schooler for our recreational basketball league.
Cedar Hills Rec Center Updates: THRIVE No School Days: Nov. 10, 24 – 26 from 7:30 am – 6 pm. We offer full-day care for THRIVE families when schools are not in session due to holidays or staff development days. There’s an additional fee of $65 for each full-day session.
Conestoga Rec & Aquatic Center Updates:
- Give & Get Fit Food Drive: Nov. 1 – 20. Bring in non-perishable food donations that will go towards a local food pantry.
- Community Blood Drive Nov. 4, 8 am – 1 pm.
- Dive-in Movies: Fridays, Nov. 7 and 21, 6 – 8:30 pm. We’re celebrating 70 years of THPRD with our “Through the Decades” series of Movies!
- Veterans Day Breakfast: Tuesday, Nov. 11, 9 – 11 am. Join us a for breakfast. Military families are invited to enjoy free drop-in programs.
- Kids Night Out: Sunday, Nov. 16, 4:45 – 7:45 pm. Calling all Pokémon Masters! Join us for a thrilling adventure – full of swimming, captivating games, and imaginative crafts. Open swim and pizza dinner included.
- Fall Break Camps: Nov. 24 – 26. School may be out, but fun is in session! Conestoga has half-day and full day childcare options for school age children during the fall break. www.thprd.org/portal
Garden Home Rec Center Updates:
- Fall Camp Nov. 24 – 26: No school during Thanksgiving break? Join all-day fall camp fun! Each day will include games, sports, arts and crafts, and more.
- Cozy & Crafty ~Autumn Holiday Family Crafts, Nov. 24, 4 – 6pm: Enjoy some warm treats and celebrate the beauty of fall by crafting together!
- New – Adult crochet workshop, Nov. 7, 5:30 – 7:30 pm: Beginners or those looking to refresh their skills join us for a relaxing two-hour crochet workshop and create one cozy project to take home.
Youth Leadership Opportunities for teens ages 13 – 17: RISE is a leadership program where youth can develop the necessary leadership and communication skills to join the workforce.

Coach Youth Fall Sports: THPRD is looking for adults who can provide an enjoyable learning environment for youth athletes, while promoting participants’ physical, social and personal development.
Lap N’ Cap Challenge Fall Term: Now thru Dec. 27 Celebrate THPRD’s 70th Anniversary by swimming 70 laps at any THPRD swim center and earn a limited-edition 70-Year Anniversary swim cap. Available while supplies last. Drop-in Rates Apply.
New Plaza in South Cooper Mountain: THPRD is excited to announce the opening of your first urban plaza in South Cooper Mountain! The 0.25-acre plaza is on the north side of SW Scholls Ferry Road, west of SW Mountainside Way. The site includes concrete seating and a small open area for events and drinking fountain with a pet bowl. The plaza is adjacent to Amity Orchards apartments and Mountainside High School.
