BSD Clothing Drive – Pants Needed: Help us support Beaverton School District students in need with donations of children’s pants (Sizes most needed 6 – 14). Donations accepted at the Garden Home Rec Center, Babette Horenstein Tennis Center, Tualatin Hills Athletic Center, and the Elsie Stuhr Center.
Fall Festival: Join us at Cedar Hills Rec Center on Sat., Oct. 25 from 11 am – 2 pm. Fun activities, including pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, games, festive crafts, & obstacle courses. Admission is $8 per child.
Sempoashochitl Festival Saturday, Oct. 25, 4 – 8 pm – Celebrate the harvest of the Sempoashochitl (marigold), a sacred flower in Anahuaca culture, at this free family event. Enjoy food and craft vendors, performances, a community altar, and colorful tapetes.

THPRD Wins Safety Award at the Oregon Recreation Park Association conference for the district’s Nature Play Guidelines.
Coach Youth Fall Sports: Coaches are needed to assist with cross country and volleyball, as well as basketball later this fall. Apply online.
NEW Class at Cedar Hills Rec Center: 50+ Bowling at KingPins: Oct. 14 – Nov. 18 on Tuesdays, 12:30 – 1:45 pm. Join our beginner-friendly classes led by KingPins staff to learn the basics of bowling.
Community Crafting Nights at Conestoga Rec & Aquatic Center: 1st Sun. of the month, 5:30 – 8 pm and 4th Thursday of the month, 7 – 9:40 pm. Ages 14+.
Lap N’ Cap Challenge Fall Term: Aug. 31 – Dec. 27, Celebrate THPRD’s 70th Anniversary by swimming 70 laps at any THPRD swim center and earn a limited-edition 70-Year Anniversary swim cap.
Halloween Softball Tournament: Saturday, Oct. 4, 9 am – 4 pm at the HMT softball fields. This spooky eventwill highlight the teams that are playing in our adult leagues as well as anybody would like to register. The teams usually have coordinated costume uniforms.
Garden Home Rec Center Updates:
- NEW – Family workshops on Saturdays in October: From STEM, Art, Beauty Lab and more, bring yourself and your family to have fun creating together. Register online at thprd.org or call; 503-629-6341.
- Teen activities in October: Join the fun with Apple picking, Oct. 8 and Pumpkin decorating, Oct. 22. Therapeutic Recreation (TR) programs are intended for teens ages 13-20 years of age who experience disabilities. Register online or call 503-629-6341.
