Sempoashochitl Festival – Sat., Oct. 26, 4-8pm at Garden Home Recreation Center. Shochicalli Wellness & Art Center and THPRD are hosting a free, family-friendly event. The Sempoashochitl Festival celebrates the Marigold, a cherished plant in Anahuaca culture, especially during Día de los Muertos. Enjoy vibrant arts and crafts, delicious food, live performances, and a community altar.

Conestoga Patron Appreciation Week: Conestoga is celebrating patrons of all ages! Join us for treats, activities, raffles, and more! 10/13-10/19.

The Opera is Coming to THPRD. Portland Opera to Go will bring Shizue: An American Story to the Elsie Stuhr Center on Oct. 11 and to the Garden Home Rec Center on Oct. 12. Come join us for a beginner-friendly, 50-minute opera experience.

Accessibility Improvements: Staff recently installed new ADA fountains and pads at the HMT Sports Complex, Florence Pointe Park, Garden Home Park, Schiffler Park and Little Peoples Park. Additional sites to receive upgrades later this fall are: Sunset Park, Mitchell Park, Eichler Park, Sexton Mt. Park, Greenway Park, and the PCC Sports Complex. Staff also installed a new ADA bench pad in Greenway Park and will be installing a new ADA table and pad later this fall.

SAVE THE DATE for Newt Day: Sat., Nov. 2, 12 – 4pm, Tualatin Hills Nature Center. Cost: $5 per person or $15 per household, children 2 years and under are free. Discover how animals rely on their senses to navigate their surroundings and uncover the secrets of their habitats.

Mt. View Champions Park NEW Sport Court – The new multi-purpose sport court is nearing completion! Staff anticipates construction completion and permit closeouts in October, with the new court to be open for public use by late October/early November.

Westside Trail – THPRD has been awarded a federal grant to complete a feasibility study and conceptual planning for a preferred trail alignment of 4 segments of the southern portion of the Westside Trail. The planning work is expected to begin in October and take 18-months to complete. Public outreach will be conducted during Winter 2025.

Raleigh Park Stream Restoration: Contractors have been carving a more natural and climate-resilient stream channel at Raleigh Park. The site will be planted with trees and shrubs this winter.
