What is the downtown loop? An improved way of getting around downtown
The Downtown Loop Urban Design and Transportation Plan is an effort to improve experiences walking and biking downtown. Growing out of the Downtown Design Project, it seeks to establish a strong connection between Old Town and Beaverton Central. It will do so by reimagining the use of public space and inserting a common set of elements into the streetscape.
The Loop will link significant cultural, economic and civic destinations, including the under-construction Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, restaurants and services in historic Old Town, Beaverton City Park, the Beaverton Farmers Market and the Beaverton City Library.
The city has hired a landscape architecture and urban design firm to develop a concept plan for the Loop and engage the community in the planning process. The city’s survey crew will be collecting data along both streets to create maps of the project area.
