Why I like this time of year: Stay engaged: show up and vote!

Spring in Beaverton is one of my favorite times of year. Trees are blooming, neighborhood projects are getting back underway, and people are out walking, biking, and reconnecting after winter. It is a season that reminds me how much is possible when we show up for one another and for this place we call home.

This time of year also brings important decisions about our city’s future. Like many communities, Beaverton is navigating real fiscal challenges. We are committed to being transparent, responsible, and thoughtful as we plan for the years ahead, while continuing to protect the services residents rely on.

I often say that decisions are made by those who show up. Voting is one of the most direct ways we do that. It is how we shape our shared priorities and help guide the direction of our community. With an election this month, I encourage you to take a few minutes to participate and make your voice heard.
